Darren built a fitted wardrobe unit for my daughters’ bedroom. His workmanship and professionalism at all stages of this project was A1. He arrived on time, returned phone calls, communicated well, and of course the work was of a very high finish. It is refreshing to find a tradesman who not only is excellent at their work, but also respects things such as timekeeping and calling when you say you will. In my experience this is rare. Thank you Drumm Carpentry. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Traditional Wardrobes FAQs

What defines a traditional wardrobe style?

A traditional wardrobe is defined by classic design elements such as panelling and mouldings. They are often constructed out of rich materials and feature timeless craftsmanship. They are typically made from wood and feature carvings, panelling, and decorative mouldings. Traditional fitted wardrobes are often made with hinged or sliding doors, elegant handles, and sometimes even mirrored panels. You can enhance the functionality of your classic wardrobe with wardrobe accessories such as shoe holders, baskets and pull out hanger rails. Do traditional wardrobes come with built-in storage options?

Yes, Drumm Carpentry offers bespoke carpentry services building custom wardrobes that suit your space and specific storage needs. As such, your traditional fitted wardrobe can be customised to include in-built storage options. The design process starts with a visit to our showrooms in Mallow Co. Cork where our design team will be happy to sit down with you and go through our catalogue of wardrobe accessories. From pull down tie racks to shoe storage and pull out baskets, we offer a wide range of built-in storage options allowing you to customise and maximise your storage space. Get in contact with our team today to begin the design process.

How can I maintain and care for my classic wooden wardrobe?

Drumm Carpentry builds bespoke classic wardrobes that are constructed to last a lifetime. As such, there is very little for you to do to maintain them. We recommend wiping down the exterior of the wardrobe with a clean dry microfibre cloth every 3-6 months to remove dust. You can then preform a more thorough clean every 6 months, removing dust with a clean microfibre towel or duster and using a gentle wood safe cleaner to remove any built up grime or debris. If you have any questions about maintaining your classic wooden wardrobe, get in contact with our team today.

What is the best colour for a traditional wardrobe to achieve a timeless look?

The best colours for a traditional wardrobe to achieve a timeless look are rich, classic colours. Some enduring favourites include wood finishes like mahogany, walnut and oak which exude warmth and compliment just about any interior design style. Neutral shades such as ivory, cream, or taupe offer a refined, versatile appeal, blending seamlessly with various interior styles. Muted greys and navy blues add a touch of modernity while maintaining a classic charm. A dark espresso or black finish can create a bold statement to complement a more modern interior. The best colour for your space is up to you but our design team would be happy to help you choose. Get in contact today to discuss your traditional wardrobe project.
